Description:

Constructed of rectangular panes of glass, this modern cathedral took three years and $18 million to build; it was finished in 1980. Also known as Christ Cathedral, it was originally built for the Reformed Church of America congregation, but bankruptcies and mismanagement allowed the Roman Catholic Church to purchase it. If you're worried about its structural integrity, the panels are affixed with a revolutionary sort of glue, allowing the building to withstand an earthquake of 8.0 magnitude.
