Defend Dignity Mural

The artist, Shepard Fairey, describes his work as something "meant to inspire sensitivity toward our fellow human beings and the planet itself." The focal point of the mural is Maribel Valdez Gonzalez, the Texas-born daughter of Mexican immigrants. Her community work is centered on educational justice. Fairey calls her a "symbol of hope and humanity."
