Not only the experience of the ill-fated Donner Party is recounted here; so are the immigrant stories of many from the mid 1800s. Through artifacts, photographs, and film stories, the trying lives of pioneers, railroad builders, and Chinese immigrants are told in great detail. You're free to roam about the park and museum on your own or participate in a ranger-led tour.
