The Long Beach Dunkin' Donuts is unique among its 8,000 other siblings nationwide. It is the only one in the entire chain of shops to be graced with a giant donut on the top of its building. It's also a testament to the strength of the communitywho protested when they learned the 1950s pastry was to be demolished when the franchise took over the building in 2014. The donut controversy had its effect; Dunkin' Donuts preserved the artifact although it was redecorated with a chocolate glaze and sprinkles.
