The Fallen Monarch is a giant sequoia tree located along the Mariposa Grove Road in Yosemite. The tree is estimated to be over 2,000 years old and has a height of approximately 60 feet and a diameter of 30 feet. It earned its name because it fell to the ground over 100 years ago and has since been left where it fell, creating a unique landscape for visitors to explore. Despite being downed, the tree still remains an impressive sight to behold as its large trunk and massive branches spread out across the forest floor.
