Baldassare Forestiere was one dedicated guy. Over 40 years, the Italian immigrant built an elaborate, beautiful underground garden paradise to escape the blistering heat of Fresno summers and remind him of the villas back in Sicily. It’s an impressive achievement. You should also check out the Watts Towers in Los Angeles, another architectural marvel from an Italian immigrant
