The hot springs began as a farm until Texaco arrived to explore the possibility of oil beneath the property. However, their search yielded a surprising discovery - powerful natural mineral waters that would ultimately be recognized as some of the finest and most beneficial in the world. The waters derive from a subterranean conduit situated 800 feet beneath the surface. Originating in Thermopolis, Wyoming, this channel meanders its path towards Mono Hot Springs, located near Fresno. Subsequently, it branches out into three separate channels, supplying water to Big Sur, Paso Robles, and Desert Hot Springs.
