Description:

Established in 1886 as the 16th bonded winery in Napa Valley, Freemark Abbey not only stands as one of the region's pioneer Cabernet producers but also houses a historic stone winery built in 1899, highlighting its deep-rooted presence in the area. Despite the ebb and flow of wineries in Napa Valley, Freemark Abbey has thrived, blending traditional craftsmanship with forward-thinking practices. This approach has positioned the winery as a trailblazer, boasting achievements such as appointing one of the first female vintners, introducing early tasting rooms, developing wine libraries, and crafting single-vineyard wines. Distinguished for presenting both a red and a white wine at the landmark 1976 Judgment of Paris, Freemark Abbey cemented its reputation internationally. This legacy was further honored when its 1969 Cabernet Sauvignon clinched first place at the event's 2017 reenactment in Tokyo.
