Friant Dam

Friant Dam is a concrete gravity dam located on the San Joaquin River in central California. It is situated near the community of Friant, about 25 miles northeast of Fresno. Completed in 1942, the dam was built primarily for flood control, irrigation, and hydroelectric power generation.
