Description:

Also known as El Paso City or Cow Wells, this town was established by Eugene Garlock in 1896 after he built the first ore-processing mill here. After the Kramer-Randsburg rail line was completed, the town went into steady decline - the desert atmosphere and inhospitable environment not holding any attraction for residents or would-be newcomers. Today, a few weathered buildings and a tunnel remain.
