This privately owned desert oasis is a favorite spot for people looking for a unique spot to vacation. Featuring different types of sleeping spaces within the granite landscape, Garth's Boulder Gardens is surrounded by the Pioneertown Mountain Preserve and the Sawtooth Mountains. A square-mile manmade Eden, Garth was able to bring irrigation to his own backyard, feeding the springs, ponds, and fruit trees. Garth himself lives in a cement teepee but visitors can either bring their own accommodations or stay in the Cosmic Castle (a cement abode that was built to look like the adjacent boulders). A swimming pool and a sauna complete this getaway. If you visit expect to be disconnected from electronic devices as there is no power or Wi-Fi available here.
