Description:
The Grizzly Giant is one of the most prominent and well-known trees in the Mariposa Grove and it's estimated to be between 1,800 and 2,700 years old. It stands at a height of about 209 feet tall and has a diameter of about 28 feet at its base. The tree is named "Grizzly" because it has scars that are believed to have been caused by grizzly bears climbing the tree to feed on the pine nuts that grow in its cones.
