Description:

Wisconsin-born American sculptor Donal Hord created his fountain sculpture in 1939. He used a two-ton granite block and spent two years chiseling it into the shape of a woman holding a water jug. The sculpture symbolizes San Diego's most precious resource - its fresh water.
