Description:
Dressed in an Elizabethan collar and gown, the regal bearing of Polish Shakespearean actress Helena Modjeska is captured perfectly in this statue. Modjeska arrived in Anaheim in 1876 and Eugen Maier-King created his sculpture in 1935 - making it the oldest public work of art in Orange County. Modjeska is playing her favorite role - Mary Queen of Scots - in Friedrich Schiller's "Maria Stuart."
