Historic Point Loma Lighthouse

Saves: 230
Check-ins: 59
Standing on the grounds of the Cabrillo National Monument, the Historic Point Loma Lighthouse is a testament to ye olden times and poor project planning. Back in 1851, the U.S. Coastal Survey selected this supposedly ideal location for a lighthouse. Although the lighthouse was built with the finest technology of its time, it was soon replaced. Fog and cloudy weather prevented its light from being seen by ships. Ooops. See also: New Point Loma Lighthouse.

The inside is as beautiful as the outside.

Breathtaking. From the tide pools at the bottom of the park to the lighthouse upon the top. There is something for everyone to do here.
