Hotel West End

Today, it is the boutique Palihotel which took an aging 1920s structure and redesigned it inside and out. The exterior is a boho-art-deco mirage - the front is painted a gorgeous regal blue-gray and the entire wall facing A Street is awash in a burst of flora and fauna. One of the rooms is said to be the first L.A. residence of Joan Crawford before her rise as a Hollywood starlet (and notoriety as Mommy Dearest).
