The Hume Lake Dam is a concrete gravity dam located in Fresno County, CA. It's situated on Tenmile Creek, a tributary of the Kings River, and is part of the Hume Lake Hydroelectric Project. The dam was constructed in 1908-1909 by the Hume-Bennett Lumber Company to create a reservoir for log flotation during the logging era. The dam is approximately 111 feet high and 365 feet long and the reservoir created by the dam has a capacity of about 88,000 acre-feet. The reservoir is used for both hydroelectric power generation and recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and camping.
