Description:

The Julian Pioneer Cemetery is a historic burial ground located in the town of Julian in San Diego County, CA. The cemetery was established in the 1870s and is the final resting place of many of the town's early pioneers and prominent citizens. Some of the notable individuals buried in the Julian Pioneer Cemetery include the town's founder Drury Bailey as well as early settlers and business owners such as Albert Robinson, Frank Heise, and Dr. Samuel L. Fox. The cemetery also contains the grave of Rachel "Shavetail" Taylor, a young girl who dressed as a boy to fight in the Civil War and later settled in Julian.
