Keane Wonder Mine

This mine and mill was a successful gold mine discovered by Jack Keane in the early 1900s. Because of its rich vein of ore, it was mined until it was on the verge of collapse. It was closed due to instability and the presence of heavy metals. Today, you can see the mine via a mile-long trail which ascends 1,500 feet in the Funeral Mountains.
