Description:

An example of the risky prospecting ventures on the 1920s, this town was started by C.C. Julian who promoted the virtually nonexistent Amargosa River by drawing up advertisements showing it as a flowing waterway. On top of that, the river which was dry most of the year was at least 20 miles away from Leadfield. Today, there are some corrugated buildings rotting in the desert heat. Take 374 on the Nevada side and go west on Titus Canyon Rd. Drive about 15.5 miles and you'll see the turnoff for Leadfield on your left-hand side.
