Description:
A natural observation spot in Joshua Tree, Mastodon Peak offers panoramic views of the Colorado Desert. The sparse land ironically has no Joshua trees, but come springtime there are plenty of wildflowers to keep you company on the 2.6-mile loop hike. While you're there stop by the Mastodon Mine to see some of the area's history.
