Mission San Francisco Solano

Saves: 2
Check-ins: 1
California's last mission named for Saint Francis Solanus was founded in 1823 after Mexico gained independence from Spain. It includes a restored mission complex encompassing a church, padre's quarters museum, and a large quadrangle. A commemorative wall contains the names of Indian neophytes who were converted to Christianity. Visitors are drawn to the history and architecture of this quaint little mission. It is surrounded by the beautiful Sonoma Valley. (Submitted by Christine Peeples)
