Moffett Field Museum

Established in 1933 as a U.S. naval air station in Mountain View, California, Moffett Field has a rich history in naval aviation and airship technology. It played a vital role in anti-submarine warfare during World War II and transitioned to NASA control in 1994. Noteworthy for its iconic Hangar One, the site now operates as a joint civil-military airport, with NASA Ames Research Center conducting aerospace research. Despite challenges, including preservation issues with Hangar One, Moffett Field stands as a symbol of ongoing innovation in the San Francisco Bay Area's aviation history.
