Montgomery Woods

This state park is over 1,300 acres and is easily accessed via the 101. Even though the location is convenient, you'll find that the park is not overrun with backpackers and hikers. The tallest trees in the world are located on this preserve including a giant 1,300-year-old redwood standing 367.5 feet tall. After visiting the park, you can make your way 20 miles west to the coast.
