Description:
This rocky trail starts at the parking lot off of Mt. Wilson Red Box Road. Begin walking on Mt Lowe Rd. and let the trail lead you about a 1/2 mile to the tunnel. Completed in 1942 by the Forest Service, this tunnel was cut into the base of San Gabriel Peak. The 100-yard-long tunnel partially collapsed in 2007, but has since been repaired. It is not considered entirely safe as the area is prone to rockslides and fires. Be extra cautious! (Submitted by @Ime_Hz)
