Muir Beach Overlook

Located next to Muir Woods, this quiet beach is next to a small lagoon. Pedestrians can easily walk down to the beach via a 450-foot-long pedestrian bridge. Once you get down to the beach you're able to make a campfire or walk your leashed dog. There is even a designated clothing-optional area for sunbathers. While any time of the year is gorgeous on the California coast, autumn is when you can see the orange migration of monarch butterflies. (Submitted by Kevin J. Singleton)
