Description:

This tiny museum imparts some knowledge of how an old jailhouse looked and was administered and governed. The jailhouse is small with six very dark jail cells. Constructed in 1854, it served as the city jail until 1956. The thick granite walls prevented jailbreaks. The building is open to the public daily and it doesn't take a chunk of time to walk through the exhibit and read the descriptions. The Old Jail's location is next to the Colton Hall Museum.
