Description:
By turns historical, controversial, and somewhat odd the Old Trapper's Lodge is the name given to a set of sculptures created in 1984 by the late John Ehn. It was originally located in Sun Valley. Found on the campus of Pierce College the statues represent John Ehn's pioneer ancestors as well as some unsavory and obsolete representations of Native Americans. However, because the folk art collection is considered an official California cultural landmark it is here to stay until another location can be found for them. They can be seen in a relaxing green area on the west side of the Life Sciences Building. Easiest route is to take Desoto to El Ranch Dr. and turn east to enter the campus.
