Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox

The Westwood Chamber of Commerce is guarded by a 49-foot-tall Paul Bunyan, and his 35-foot-tall blue ox called Babe. While many giant Paul Bunyans in the U.S. are constructed out of fiberglass, this particular one was carved out of a single Redwood log as a tribute to the logging industry. He may be the oldest Paul Bunyan in the world, even predating the legend, as the tree he was hewn from was 1,000 years old.
