Description:
A gorgeous Neoclassical building designed by Brainerd Jones houses Petaluma poultry, dairy, and Miwok Indian history exhibits from the 1850s. Construction started in 1904, using locally quarried stone. It also features one of three Carnegie libraries in Sonoma County as well as one of the largest free-standing glass domes in Northern California. The Petaluma Historical Library and Museum hosts monthly events such as concerts and lectures; see the website for an updated calendar. (Submitted by Christine Peeples)
