Description:

Standing just 47 feet tall with a focal height of 81 feet this petite lighthouse has been guiding ships since 1909. Of course, it used kerosene lamps in the early days before becoming automated. Today, the rotating Fresnel lens produces a flash every 10 seconds. This is one of the few lighthouses to offer rental vacation accommodations too - a dream getaway overlooking the ocean. There is also the restored Blacksmith & Carpentry Shop which houses the Marine Science Exhibit with its 240 gallon saltwater aquarium. The park is open from sunrise to sunset but the museum and gift shop might only have window shopping and storytelling available between 11 AM and 4 PM. Check the website for updates.
