Portal to Big Sur

This giant, donut-shaped window focuses on the perfect vantage point for viewing a small inlet. No one is quite sure when the portal appeared - and perhaps that is part of its appeal. All that is inscribed on a small plate are the names of the two artists, Aaron Appel and Abe Toke. It's a worthwhile detour on a magnificent road trip that takes you along the Pacific Coast.
