Created in 1972 as a man-made reservoir for the California State Water Project, this lake is named for the geometric shape that was carved into the side of the mountain while building Route 99. Today a variety of recreational activities are offered, including boating, fishing, jet-skiing, and picnicking. Fees apply; check the website for the entry fee for your particular vehicle.
