Description:

It has come a long way since its beginnings in the 19th century. At that time it couldn't rightfully be called a pier - it was simply a scattered collection of wharves. The pier has had its ups and downs - it was popular in the 1970s but deteriorated due to bankruptcy and storms. Still making its way back to financial prosperity, the pier continues to be a draw for locals and tourists with plenty of eateries and idyllic seaside weather.
