Description:
This nondescript bridge crossing the Santa Ana River has a unique history behind it. In 1958 Charles Wetzel claimed to have had a run-in with a huge reptilian monster while driving on the bridge. It jumped out at his car, gouging the side and the undercarriage with its long claws. While no one can to this day prove the monster's existence, Wetzel's car had the battle scars. No other major incidents of this nature have been reported at this site, so it remains a piece of local folklore with many theories behind it.
