Description:

The Robert Louis Stevenson Museum, a dream of avid Stevenson collector Norman H. Strouse, opened on December 14, 1969, thanks to his vision. After retiring from J. Walter Thompson Company, Strouse and his wife, Charlotte, established a foundation in St. Helena, using his extensive Stevensoniana collection as the foundation for the museum. The museum later relocated to a more expansive space within the new St. Helena Public Library Center in May 1979, where visitors of all ages can now explore and appreciate the life and times of Robert Louis Stevenson.
