Description:
Modern poet Robinson Jeffers was in love with the Monterey Peninsula. The unsullied, undeveloped beauty of the windswept beaches enticed him to settle here with his family. He started construction in 1918, carting the stones to the site by horse, taking his inspiration from a Tudor-style barn. The rocky abode fits in perfectly with the similarly rocky coastline. Today, the house museum is a work of art in itself and a wonderful part of Carmel history.
