Description:

San Simeon Pier is an extraordinary place near Hearst Castle and the old town of San Simeon which has a nice little park with picnic tables. Before the dawn of the railroad and handily traveled highways, most of California's commerce was ship-driven. Wharves and piers were vitally important. San Simeon is one of the earliest piers, making the shipment and import of goods much easier and cheaper. At San Simeon you'll experience a nature sanctuary where you can see pelicans, elephant seals, and sea otters. You can also relax and walk the San Simeon Point and pier that stretches out to the ocean.
