Description:

Santa Fe Importers was founded in 1947 by Sicilian immigrant Vincenzo Passanisi Sr., who left Buffalo and settled on Santa Fe Avenue in Long Beach to begin his Italian deli and market. The business expanded through three generations of the Passanisi family, adding its own Marisa Brand line of Italian sausages, meatballs and salamis in response to local restaurant demand. Today the deli is known for its old-school Italian comfort dishes (rigatoni with meatballs, Italian sausage sandwiches, lasagna), as well as a wide selection of imported Italian groceries and its reputation as a West-Long Beach staple.
