Description:
The Santiago Creek Dam—also known as the Historic Dam—is a charming late‑19th century river‑rock and cement structure situated along the 0.2‑mile Historic Dam Trail in Santiago Oaks Regional Park, just east of Orange. Originally built in 1892 to boost groundwater by damming the creek, it now provides a small waterfall and serene pool that support turtles, fish, and the babble of flowing water. The kid‑ and dog‑friendly trail is shaded, family‑oriented, and includes stepping stones across the creek, picnic tables, and nearby restrooms and playgrounds.
