Description:

It's a little gem in the middle of this hinterland community with plenty of history about flight, fighter pilots, the space program, and experimental aircrafts. Many of the items come from Edwards Air Force Base. The collection includes an F-4 fighter jet and an XLR-8 rocket. The museum was named after Col. Vernon Parker Saxon Jr., a commander at Edwards Air Force Base's Flight Test Center. Hours seem to be 10-4 daily but call (760) 762-6600 to verify. To get to the museum take Boron Ave south from Hwy 58. Turn right on Twenty Mule Team Rd. The museum will be on your left-hand side a few hundred feet up.
