Description:

In the 1870s, when Conn Valley Road was just a wagon trail, the land now owned by Bill and Mary Seavey grew grapes for a renowned "Claret." After thriving for about 30 years, the winery closed due to Prohibition. In 1979, Bill and Mary took over, working to revive the vineyard. They planted the hills near Lake Hennessey, converted an 1881 stone dairy barn into a winery by 1990, and added Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. A second winery building with an underground wine cave was also established.
