Description:

Adobe and redwood lumber were used in the construction of this home, completed in 1872. The park which encompasses 13 acres is a favorite spot for locals to play soccer, walk their dogs, or join in on scheduled activities. Old film buffs might recognize it from the 1961 movie "The Children's Hour," starring Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine. Shortly after the film was released Shadow Ranch Park was declared a historical landmark in 1962. P.S. Back in the '80s, this was a popular summer camp location and may well still be. A boy, Lucious, showed us a condom (not used) IRL for the first time and you could buy Kool gum cigarettes from a creepy ice cream truck to fake smoke while traipsing around the woods.
