Description:

Access Siena's View from the Elfin Forest nature preserve in Los Osos. The trail offers incredible opportunities for walking, hiking, and wildlife watching and it's located next to the Morro Bay Estuary. You'll enjoy a leisurely afternoon walk, breathe in fresh ocean air, and take in panoramic views of the bay. It offers plenty of nature to explore, including hundreds of different plant species and various animals. This trail earns its name from the strange-looking Pygmy Oak trees growing in the area, recognizable for their low, curved branches and dark green leaves. Walking through this nature preserve feels like something out of a fairytale! Siena's View is the second viewpoint on the trail and its location is just slightly north of Lupine Point. Learn about the geological history of the Morro Bay Estuary and that it didn't exist until 12,000 years ago when ice melting caused flooding of the bay. The trail is open from sunrise to sunset for visitors, but because of the sensitive natural habitat with many rare and endangered species, please stay on designated trails. Bikes, scooters, and skateboards are not allowed on the boardwalk and there are no bathrooms anywhere along the trail.
