Slide Mountain Lookout Tower

Beginners beware! This is a trail that is more suited to experienced hikers. From the main gate to the lookout tower, the trail is just under 12 miles roundtrip. Going up the grade is gradual but the distance is long enough to make it challenging. Best time to try this hike is any time but summer! But, if you decide to brave the summer months, make sure you start out early in the morning to avoid the direct sun. (Submitted by Alain Mesropian)
