Split Rock

Saves: 18
Check-ins: 14
This two-mile trail is great for walkers and climbers. The large, smooth boulders are a sight to see, some with some oddly familiar shapes! Split Rock itself is quite a strange sight, a huge boulder with a cleft right down the middle. You'll be in the desert, so bring a backpack filled with water. To get there from the I-10 take Cottonwood Springs Rd. and go north. Then, take Pinto Basin Rd. and travel for about 25 miles. Make a left on Park Blvd., drive for a mile, and turn right at Split Rock. There are a few parking spots; it can be difficult to park on busy days. The park is only for daytime use.
