Description:

The new Spring Mountain Vineyard is a consolidation of three historic properties: Spring Mountain Vineyards (Miravalle) spanning 257 acres, Chateau Chevalier (Chevalier) covering 120 acres, and Draper Vineyards (La Perla) with 435 acres. La Perla, the highest property, originated in 1873 and played a pioneering role by planting the first Cabernet Sauvignon on Spring Mountain. Its old winery, equipment, and horse-drawn carriages still stand. Below La Perla, Fredrick and Jacob Beringer planted the first vineyard in 1882, supporting their fledgling winery. The adjacent Chateau Chevalier, established in 1891 by Fortune Chevalier, and Tiburcio Parrott's estate named Miravalle complete the trio, forming a rich tapestry of historical vineyards and wineries on Spring Mountain.
