This victory class ship was named after Lane College, a historically black college located in Tennessee. Her first voyage was on June 27, 1945 carrying supplies to across the Pacific. She also served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts - transporting Korean civilians in the former and munitions and supplies in the latter. Being one of only three surviving victory ships, she was moved to her present location in 1989, becoming a museum ship. Hours are 9 to 4 daily for self-guided tours; admission is $7 per adult.
