Description:

It was created in 1935 when a wealthy couple, Charles and Ellamae Stearns, commissioned renowned Japanese landscape architect Kinzuchi Fujii to design this masterpiece. The history of the garden cannot be separated from its designer who was sent to the concentration camps for people of Japanese descent after the U.S. entered WWII. He never saw his swan song again.
