The picnic area is shaded by tall trees, making it a pleasant place to relax and cool off on a hot day. In addition to picnicking, the Swinging Bridge Picnic Area is a great starting point for several hiking trails that lead to popular destinations in Yosemite Valley such as Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, and Glacier Point.
